Hi! I’m a LPC-Associate pursuing a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential in Texas. I use play-based, developmentally attuned therapy to support children and families navigating big emotions, behavioral challenges, grief and loss, and other life stressors. My background in special education informs my understanding of children’s behavior, emotions, and development in a way that honors each child’s unique experience.
My Approach
My approach is primarily Child-Centered Play Therapy, informed by attachment theory, Adlerian principles, and neurobiological understandings of regulation and connection.
I believe children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and connected. Within a trusting therapeutic relationship, children are given the freedom to explore their thoughts, feelings, experiences, and strengths at their own pace.
Why Play Therapy?
Play is a child's natural language. While adults often communicate through words, children use PLAY to express emotions, process experiences, practice new skills, and make sense of the world around them. Within the safety of the playroom, play becomes a powerful pathway for growth, resilience, and self-discovery.
What We Work Toward
Through play therapy, I help children strengthen emotional awareness, develop regulation skills, build confidence, and navigate challenges in developmentally appropriate ways. My goal is not to "fix" children, but to help them better understand themselves, deepen their connections with others, and access their natural capacity for growth and resilience. All behavior is a form of communication, some more pleasant to experience than others. We all have big feelings & we all deserve a space to feel seen, heard, and safe to try different ways of being.
Partnering with Families
Children do not grow in isolation. The relationships and environments that surround them play an important role in their well-being and development. I believe in partnering with parents, caregivers, teachers, coaches, and other important supports to help reinforce growth beyond our sessions. When appropriate, collaboration and caregiver support are integrated into the therapeutic process to create meaningful and lasting change.
As a LPC-A, I have completed a master's degree in Professional Counseling and passed the state licensing exam (National Counselor Exam). I am in the process of completing 3,000 supervised counseling hours to obtain full licensure.
